6 week old Maine Coon kittens. One male and one female. This is the sixth litter and only 2 kittens are available. Kittens will receive 2 of their 3 sets of shots and will be available to go to their new homes Aug. 27th.
The Maine Coon is a very large and sociable cat. They really enjoy the company of people and are very loyal. Maine Coons are known for their kitten-like playfulness, earning them the nickname ?Gentle Giant?. They are also extremely intelligent making them fairly easy to train. Characterized by a robust bone structure, rectangular body shape, a silky flowing coat, and a long bushy tail. Although Maine Coons are highly people-oriented cats, they are not overly-dependent. They do not constantly beg for attention, but prefer to "hang out" with their humans, investigating whatever activity is going on and "helping" when they can. Generally, they are not known as "lap cats," but they will probably stay close by, following you from room to room and waiting outside closed doors for you to emerge. A Maine Coon will be your buddy, but hardly ever your baby. Maine Coons are a vocal breed, with a variety of meows, chirps and trills at their disposal to get their humans to do what they want. They have a tendency to use their front paws extensively (often curling the paw round to pick objects up) and as a consequence will easily learn to open cabinet doors, turn on water faucets, or pick up small objects.
